Halved 7 minute egg

Eggs Are Life

I have a passion for fashion. And eggs. Mostly eggs. Specifically, 7 minute eggs Take a shot every time you read the word egg(s) in this post. Eggs are one of the top food products that prevent me from going vegan. It’s just so easy to throw an egg on top of some rice and call it a day.

Eggs are Eggcelent

Here are 3 reasons why eggs are eggcelent:

  1. Versatile
  2. Good Source of Protein
  3. Can Make any Dish a Meal

Versatile

Eggs are so versatile. Think about all the different ways you can cook or use an egg. Boiling, poaching, frying, baking, or scrambling. The options are endless. The yolk and egg white even have their own separate purposes. Eggs yolks can emulsify, thicken, brown, and tenderize products. Egg whites, on the other hand, can be used to form a variety of different meringue-based desserts and can be whipped to add air into products. Are you getting a sense of how amazing eggs are yet?

Good Source of Protein

Eggs are an easy and healthy way to incorporate protein into your meal. They are loaded with nutrients and are a source of high-quality protein. Low on your protein macro? Eat an egg. Instead of taking out all your equipment to cook a chicken breast, just put an egg in a pot of water and boil it.

They Can Make Any Dish A Meal

Now, this is more of my personal opinion. This ties into my previous reason — they’re an easy way to incorporate protein in your diet. Sometimes you have absolutely nothing in your house to make a complete meal. Maybe you have sweet potatoes and cheese. That in itself is sad, but add an egg and BAM! You have a meal. When I’m only eating a salad for lunch, I don’t feel complete with my bowl of greens. However, after adding a 7 minute egg or two with my salad … BAM! I am complete. Again, this is only my opinion — some people may need more than sweet potatoes, cheese, and eggs to satisfy them.

Let’s Begin!

Now that I have declared my love for eggs, let’s get into what this post is actually about — the amazingly jammy 7 minute egg. The 7 minute egg is also known as the “ramen egg” because it’s the egg that is usually served with your ramen. The yolk isn’t quite boiled but it’s also not completely runny. It is the perfect in-between that leaves you with a vibrant and jammy center.

The 7 minute egg is probably my favorite way to make and consume eggs. I love throwing them in salads and incorporating them into bowls. While the texture of the egg yolk is what usually intrigues people, I love the 7 minute egg because of its color. When cooked with this method, the center of the yolk remains bold and vibrant and adds eye-appeal to a dish. If you haven’t seen a 7 minute egg’s yolk in all its glory. You’re missing out, my friend.
