Good Morning!
The weather is getting warmer, which means smoothie bowls are coming back in season! Smoothie bowls are a healthy and delicious way to start your morning, and now we all have a little extra time in our day to make ourselves one. So I present to you, my Matcha Smoothie Bowl recipe!
Fancify Your Fruit
Sometimes fruit can be boring to eat. They’re delicious, but some days you don’t want to have plain old strawberries or a boring banana. Smoothie bowls are a great way to make fruits new and interesting. There are so many flavors of smoothie bowls that you can make, so your palate will never get bored.
I absolutely love having smoothie bowls for breakfast on a warm day. They are so refreshing and taste SO.FREAKING.GOOD. It’s honestly incredible that they taste so amazing but are healthy and nutritious! The smoothie base is essentially made with ingredients you would use to make a regular smoothie. However, it relies more on using frozen components. For example, in a regular smoothie, you may use blueberries. To make a smoothie bowl, you would use frozen blueberries.
The frozen fruit component most likely always contains frozen chunks of banana. Frozen bananas help to make the base thick and a little creamy. Then the remaining fruit you add in creates the main flavor of your smoothie bowl. The higher ratio of frozen fruit to liquid is what makes a smoothie bowl thicker than your average smoothie. This way, it’s spoonable and takes on the texture of a slightly softer sherbert.
And don’t even get me started on the colors people. There are so many different fruits that you can use to top and make smoothie bowls. Whatever combination you choose, you’re bound to create a rainbow. The vibrant colors make a sunny day even brighter! It lifts my mood just thinking about it!
I Love You So Matcha!
Another great love of mine is matcha. If I hear about anything matcha, I’m there and I will demolish it. Matcha soft serve? It gets me. Every. Single. Time. That sh*t hits different.
So with my love for matcha, I of course had to add it into my Matcha Smoothie Bowl! If you’re not a fan of matcha, don’t worry. The flavor of it in this recipe is pretty subtle. The sweetness of all the fruit also helps to balance the bitterness of it.
Matcha is delicious and all, but it also comes with a lot of health benefits! It’s high in antioxidants, helps to detoxify your body, boosts your metabolism, enhances your brain function, and promotes heart health! So why not add it in?
A Boost in Your Day
Definitely try this Matcha Smoothie Bowl for breakfast or even as a snack! This bowl is refreshing and filled with a lot of healthy ingredients. You’ll feel so full after eating this, but it’s alright because you just ingested a heck ton of vitamins and fiber.
Feel free to top this smoothie bowl with your favorite fruits, granola, seeds, nuts, and any other toppings you love! The blended smoothie base mixed with the fresh fruit and crunchy granola is a texture party. You can’t really go to any other parties at this time, so why not join this one? I love you all and I’ll catch you in my next post!
