Spice, Spice, Baby
Hello everyone and welcome back! Were you anxiously anticipating this post after my Maple Spiced Granola post? Who am I kidding? Of course you were! Continuing on the spice train, today we have a Spiced Plum Yogurt Bowl!
This recipe is quick, easy, and most importantly delicious! It’s definitely a healthier way to satisfy my sweet tooth in the morning, rather than eating all of the leftover Halloween candy.
The Horrors of Halloween
Speaking of Halloween, I hope you all had a great day — whether you went all out with your costume and partied, stayed in to hand out candy, or went trick or treating. I, personally, love scary Halloween makeup because it’s so creative and it challenges my makeup skills, which is fun. This Halloween, I went back home and stayed in my PJ’s, testing some new recipes. It wasn’t very festive, but I thoroughly enjoyed my day.
My neighborhood doesn’t get very many trick or treaters (we only had 2 this year), so now we’re left with bags of Halloween candy, which is a very dangerous environment for me to be in. Adding to this danger, the day after Halloween, I went to the grocery store, and the cashier gave me a case of 24 mini cupcakes for free! Temptation was everywhere in my house, people! I did indulge in some of the cupcakes and leftover candy because you can’t restrict yourself from everything in life. You gotta live!
Plum-believably Good
Anyway, back to the start of the show, this Spiced Plum Bowl adds some warmth to a regular yogurt you would have for breakfast. I usually eat my greek yogurt with honey, but with this recipe, the syrup created from the plum juice acts as the sweetener. There’s a great balance between warm and cold and sweet and tart that plays so well together. Then you also have the tender plums, bursting with juice, and the nutty and crunchy granola, which adds texture.
This Spiced Plum Yogurt Bowl is a great way to change up your usual breakfast, and it pairs amazingly with the Maple Spiced Granola. The two recipes are very Fall-esque, so it’s the perfect way to continue celebrating the season. Or are we mentally in Winter — now that Halloween is over? Regardless, try this recipe out, and let me know how you spent Halloween! have a great day, and I’ll catch you in my next post!
