A Matcha Made In Heaven

Matcha has really grown in popularity the past few years, so the chances are pretty high that you or your partner enjoy matcha. The most classic combination is strawberry matcha. Not only is the color pairing adorable, but the flavors are also a match made in heaven. If you find yourself agreeing to these two statements, you need to try my Strawberry Matcha Trifle Cups. This is such an easy Valentine’s Day dessert to make for you and your matcha lover. Vanilla cake cubes are topped with a mascarpone whipped cream, matcha condensed milk, and strawberries. It’s the perfect balance of fruity and indulgent.

Warm And Buttery

First, we’ll start with making the matcha condensed milk. Add the hot water into a small bowl. Sift the matcha powder into the water then mix until fully dissolved and smooth. Mix in the sweetened condensed milk and set aside.

Moving onto the mascarpone whipped cream, add the heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract into the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat it with the whisk attachment until it turns into whipped cream with soft peaks. Gently fold in the mascarpone with a rubbed spatula until evenly combined.

For the cake, you can simply cut the cake, as is, into cubes. Alternatively, you can also toast the slices of cake in a pan with some butter until golden brown. Then cut the slices into cubes. This is a fun way to customize the dessert if you want a warm and buttery cake option. Proceed to portion the cake cubes into the serving glasses. Add a dollop of the mascarpone whipped cream. Drizzle on the matcha sweetened condensed milk. Top with strawberries and enjoy!

I love these Strawberry Matcha Trifle Cups because they’re cute, tasty, and easy. You can make the different components ahead of time and then quickly assemble it together when you’re ready for dessert. This takes the stress off of making a complex Valentine’s Day dessert and leaves you with ample time to spend with your partner. As someone who isn’t the biggest chocolate lover, I can confirm that these Strawberry Matcha Trifle Cups would make me a very happy girl. Not to mention, these would also make for the cutest Galentine’s party treat. Try this recipe out this Valentine’s Day and have yourself a lovely evening!
