Waffles vs. Pancakes
Let’s cut to the chase. I’m a waffle girl all the way. Don’t get me wrong, I think pancakes are delicious! I wouldn’t have this Chocolate Banana Blender Pancakes recipe up on the blog if I hated them. But if I had to choose between the two, I’m team waffles. For me, it all comes down to texture. I love a little crispity crunch action and pancakes kind of lack in that department. Nevertheless, I’ve recently been venturing further into the world of pancakes because my sister doesn’t own a waffle iron. And with each day that passes, it’s getting a little harder to pick between waffles or pancakes.
Breakfast in A Jiffy
For the most part, making pancakes isn’t very hard. Add everything to a bowl and mix. You would think that the process could not get any easier, but I’m here to let you know that it can! As hinted at in the name, these Chocolate Banana Blender Pancakes can be whipped up in a blender!
I developed this recipe during the period when I couldn’t get my hands on a bag of flour. I bought a huge bag of oats, thinking I would have to use oat flour for the rest of my life. Fortunately, I eventually found flour so that situation will not be the case. But hey, I was able to make a delicious stack of oat flour pancakes so it’s really a win-win situation.
These Chocolate Banana Blender Pancakes are a healthy and easy breakfast to make. And as long as your oats are pure and non-contaminated, these pancakes are also gluten-free! Add everything into a blender, blend until smooth, and then cook em’ up!
I’m not sure if this is weird, but I love topping my pancakes with a (large) dollop of natural peanut butter and a (generous) drizzling of honey. I think that the thick peanut butter adds an element of indulgence, and besides, who doesn’t love a peanut butter and chocolate combo?! In addition to the peanut butter and honey, I like to top the pancakes with some fresh berries. I think the slight tartness and juiciness of the berries also compliment the peanut butter nicely because it cuts through the thickness.
Don’t Knock It Until You Try It
Whether you’re team waffles or team pancakes, give this recipe a try! If the deliciousness of it doesn’t win you over, I promise the ease of it will! Also, if you’ve been using maple syrup with your pancakes for all of eternity, try my peanut butter and honey combo to switch it up. Don’t knock it until you try it! I hope you’re all still staying safe as restrictions loosen. As always, thank you for tuning in today, and I’ll talk to you in my next post!
