Spiced Apple Chutney

A delicious apple chutney filled with spices that's perfect for a charcuterie board or for topping!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Diced Red Apple (1/4 inch dice)
  • 2 oz Diced Red Onion (1/4 inch dice)
  • 1 Garlic Clove (minced)
  • 1 cup Black Currants
  • 3 oz Brown Sugar
  • 4 oz Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 oz Water
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Ground White Pepper

Instructions

  • Place all of the ingredients into a pot and mix until everything is combined.
  • Heat the mixture over medium high heat and bring it to a boil.
  • Once the mixture boils, reduce the flame to low and allow it to simmer for about 50 minutes until the liquid has evaporated and the apples have cooked and caramelized. Stir frequently.
  • When the compote is done, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool. Enjoy!
