Ingredients
1 ½cupsJapanese Short Grain Rice
2tbspUnsalted Butter
4Garlic Cloves(minced)
1 ½tbspWhite Miso Paste
2cupsDashi Stock or Chicken broth
½tbspSoy Sauce
1tspSesame Oil
Toasted White Sesame Seeds(for topping)
Sliced Green Onions(for topping)
Instructions
Soak the rice in cold water for 15 minutes. Drain the water then set the rice aside.
Heat a medium sized pot over medium heat. Add in butter and allow it to melt. Mix in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant. Add in the miso paste. Stir and cook for about 1 minute then add in the rice. Cook the rice for 2 minutes to toast then mix in the dashi stock, soy sauce, and sesame oil
Increase the heat to medium high and bring the mixture to a boil. Decrease the heat to low so that it is simmering. Cover the pot with a lid and cook for 20 minutes until the rice is cooked through and all the liquid has been absorbed.
Remove the pot from the heat and fluff the rice with a rice paddle or fork. Top with toasted white sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Enjoy!
